Questions To Ask Your Doctor
You’ve learned all you can about the IntraLase Method®—now make certain you learn all about the doctor and laser center you have selected for your procedure.
Here are some questions that you can ask to find out about your doctor and the procedure:
- How long have you been performing the IntraLase Method?
- How many IntraLase Method procedures have you performed?
- Have you been trained and certified to perform the IntraLase Method?
- Are you certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology?
- What should I expect my vision to be like for the first few weeks after surgery?
- Will my vision fluctuate after surgery? How long is the healing period?
- How often and when will you perform postoperative examinations?
- Will you provide me the names and contact information of at least 10 previous patients who had a similar glasses prescription as mine who have had the exact same surgery?
- Will you allow me to observe a surgery?
- Do my occupation, leisure activities, hobbies, and/or general medical history have any bearing on my candidacy for IntraLase?
- Does being pregnant or contemplating pregnancy have any bearing on my candidacy for LASIK and/or the IntraLase Method?
- Are there any reasons why I would not have excellent results?
